Positive: Very great location if you want to go on beautiful hikes. Just roughly a 10-15 minute walk to the base of the mountain to start the hike so you don’t have to worry about parking or any of that because the house has parking. As well as that the hosts were very responsive and answered all questions I had. Couldn’t be happier with this booking and highly recommend this if traveling to Kandersteg and want a great accommodation and location for a scenic trip.

Positive: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A charming and peaceful stay in the heart of Kandersteg! We had a wonderful stay at this cozy apartment in a beautiful vintage house. The location is perfect—quiet, scenic, and just a short walk from the village center, train station, and nearby hiking trails. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It really felt like a home away from home. The vintage charm of the house adds a special character, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain views. Our kids especially enjoyed the stay—they had plenty of space to play and loved exploring the surroundings. Our host was kind, responsive, and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended for families or anyone visiting Kandersteg and looking for an authentic, cozy experience in the Swiss Alps. We’d definitely love to come back!

The apartment has multiple rooms, making it a good fit for families or groups looking for a base in the area.
Negative: Unfortunately, the house is not as secluded as it appears in the photos—it’s located right on a rather noisy road. The entrance to the property felt neglected and was not very clean. Upon arrival, we had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs. Inside the apartment, there was a musty smell and a heavy, stuffy atmosphere. Opening the windows brought in a large number of flies and mosquitoes, which made things uncomfortable. The terrace, which looks inviting in the photos, is actually located one floor below the apartment, directly facing the street, and was quite run-down. While the host was polite and responsive, no alternative solutions were offered for the issues we encountered.
Summary: Overall the apartment may suit a budget-conscious family, but it’s less ideal for a romantic getaway

Positive: The apartment is confortable, spacious and very well equipped, walking distance from key shops and skilifts. We had everything we needed during our stay and we appreciated having coffee, teas etc available to us in the house given that we only stay for a couple of nights.

Positive: Lovely views, clean with lots of facilities, we only stayed for somewhere to sleep so didn't really use much but for a group or large family this place would be great, everything you need to cook a meal, even has a washing machine. The map on the wall was a cute idea, you can stick a pin in from where you have come from 😊 nice to see all the visitors you have had from across the world! All in all a nice place, very good value if there are a few of you! Thank you for a pleasant stay 🙂
Negative: We arrived quite late and it was a little daunting going up the dark stairs to the apartment, once inside though there are pretty fairy lights you can put on to make it all cosy. We struggled to get out of the apartment when we left as the key was a bit difficult to use.
